Do your emotions fluctuate like the stock market?

It can be hard to find contentment and joy when we receive so many messages in our day-to-day lives that we’re not smart enough, beautiful enough, or successful enough. If we could just work harder, eat healthier, or be a little less stressed, then maybe –just maybe – we will finally feel okay. There’s always something missing.

What if, deep down, our true nature were already perfect, and it was just a matter of recognizing it?

The Joy of Living training encompasses three progressive levels:

CALMING THE MIND

In the first level, you will discover how awareness meditation can be used to create a peaceful mind and joyful heart. Awareness meditation allows us to use any situation or experience, even difficult emotions and physical pain, as a gateway to inner peace.

OPENING THE HEART

In the second level, you will experience how meditating on love, compassion, joy and equanimity can open our hearts to the world around us and decrease the self-fixation that lies at the root of suffering.

AWAKENING WISDOM

In the third level you will receive guidance on the practice of insight meditation, a profound form of meditation that uproots the causes of anxiety and suffering.

The estimated length of the complete Joy of Living training is 18-months.

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

The Joy of Living can be followed by everyone.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

You will learn about basic functions of your mind, such as connecting with awareness and moving toward happiness and away from suffering.

HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT YOU?

You will gradually transform your relationship to the present moment by learning to approach every thought, feeling, and sensory experience with unconditional warmth and acceptance.

Joy of Living 1 - Calming the Mind

Have you ever felt a need to calm the mind and learn how to better deal with everyday stress, anxiety, and emotions?

We all do our best to manage the challenges of modern life. What if these challenges could help us discover inner calm and emotional balance? In this level, Mingyur Rinpoche will teach us how meditation can transform the way we relate to stressful situations and challenging emotions, and embrace all aspects of life with mindful awareness.
