Who can take this course?

  • (Online) Students who have completed all three courses of Joy of Living Level 1 and the accompanying homework (total: 50 hrs) as well as Joy of Living Level 2 Courses 1, 2, and 3 (total: 37.5 hrs).
  • (In Person) Students who have attended a Joy of Living Level 1 in-person weekend workshop or retreat and completed a total of 50 hours of formal meditation practice, as well as the online Joy of Living Level 2 Courses 1, 2, and 3 (total: 37.5 hrs)

Self-paced learning

This course is designed to take about six weeks, but feel free to learn at your own pace.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The four immeasurables—love, compassion, joy, and equanimity—consist of some of the most profound meditation teachings imaginable. They allow you to access spaces in your heart that transcend time and places, culture and ethnicity, age and gender. They key to expanding them to all situations and to all beings is equanimity, the focus of this course.

In this course, you will explore ways of relating to difficult people and situations with acceptance and appreciation that transcend boundaries. Additionally, your understanding of basic goodness will go deeper to include all situations and experiences.
